Code of Conduct

All Nova members, upon acceptance, are required to accept and pledge to uphold the following 5 principles, which are meant to drive the network’s behaviors and norms

We preserve and foster a network of excellent individuals

Our community connects the top 3% of global talent, based on merit. Our members’ excellence is what distinguishes Nova from other networks and professional platforms. Therefore, it’s the members’ shared responsibility to ensure we maintain the highest talent quality standards.

Preserving and fostering the network quality means not only nominating individuals you admire and deem excellent but also reporting any behavior or member that goes against the community's values.

We support each other towards the next big goal

We understand that our collective strength lies in our diverse community’s perspectives and experiences. Through collaboration, encouragement, and support, we create an environment that empowers every member to reach their full potential.

Nova members support each other to the best of their abilities by offering direct or indirect help, guidance, and knowledge. We expect members to open doors to each other and make available resources or people that can bring a fellow Nova closer to their life goals. This could mean helping Novas join your company, connect with an expert in your network, offer career advice or welcome them as newcomers to your city.

We do not spam and are transparent in our solicitation

Unlike other platforms, at Nova, we are creating a network where top talent can manage their contacts and careers in a relevant way. We are building a trusted community based on transparency of solicitation where it’s easy to filter through the noise and where quality matters over quantity. Thus, as a Nova member, you commit to:
  • Request connections with care, under your own name, and with respect for other members’ time and agendas, which are typically very busy.

  • Be transparent about the reasons for your solicitation in your connection requests (because you already know each other, to ask for advice, to offer a job, to sell your products and services, to raise money, to buy as a client, etc.)

  • Do not solicit other members outside of the platform using the Nova membership as a claim of mutual connection and hide second intentions.

  • Be open and respectful with a potential gentle decline and avoid spamming members with communications inside and outside of the platform.

We treat each other with respect, openness, and kindness

At Nova, we treat each other with respect and kindness. We are open to different opinions and perspectives, we embrace our differences and approach every conversation with a genuine desire to include and support one another as part of the same community.

We refrain from offensive or aggressive behavior and do not judge on gender, ethnicity, religion, political views, sexuality, or physicality.

We expect all our members to be aware of the impact individual views and beliefs have on one’s ability to interpret reality, acknowledging therefore our own limitations and biases.

We uphold the highest ethical standards and lead by example

At Nova, we uphold ourselves to the highest ethical standards and we abide by the laws of the countries where we live. Since each of us acts as a representative of the network, we lead by example so that our collective image can be a source of inspiration for the rest of society.

Every Nova member adheres to and upholds the community principles and is aware that gross negligence of any of them will lead to membership termination
